As a member of the board of directors and a centennial vice-chair for the American Committee for the Tel Aviv Foundation, Ira Riklis felt especially pleased earlier this month when Charity Navigator honored the organization with its coveted 4-star rating for sound fiscal management. The rating is gratifying in that it recognizes the hard work the organization does in executing its mission in fiscally responsible way which allows the most money possible to go directly to the projects they support. The rating also makes it that much easier for the group to raise additional funds to further advance their mission.
This year’s achievement marks the 4th year in a row that the American Committee for the Tel Aviv Foundation has achieved the rating. That’s a tribute to the ongoing dedication of the committee to sound and effective management. It’s also an example of Ira Riklis’ dedication to the principle that in doing charitable work, you must consider not only the need involved, but the effectiveness of the charity you select in addressing that need. To do any less would mean that your efforts and support aren’t making as much difference as they otherwise might.
